Hi, I’m Will!

I was born and raised in Québec City, QC, where all of my family still lives today. 

After graduating from carpentry school, the mountains called me west to British Columbia, where I started working on farms and at ski hills so I could spend more time outdoors. 

Over the last 10 years I’ve lived outside in many different types of shelters including:

  • a wall tent

  • a tipi

  • a car

  • a van

  • a truck camper

  • a converted school bus

  • a motorhome

By far my favourite of these shelters is the tipi - for its unique combination of strength, simplicity, and beauty. 

Over the years I constructed a number of makeshift tipis by layering multiple tarps over a tipi frame, but these structures were complicated and unreliable. I needed something simple, durable, and most of all - super easy to put up and take down for weekend camping trips with my family. 

Last year, I designed and built the first prototype of the Easy Tipi for my family. We tested it at multiple sites in B.C. throughout all four seasons - we even slept in the tipi in the winter! So far, the Easy Tipi is the perfect combination of simple, durable, and easy to use. It can be erected in less than 30 minutes with two people.  

Our tipi has brought so much joy to our lives and spending time in the backcountry in the tipi has become an important part of my own self-care routine.
